Dear friends and family,
I'm nearing the 7-month mark on my mission, and so far, it has been an incredible experience. I will forever be grateful for this unique opportunity to serve the Lord and to impact so many lives. I've learned a lot and I'm really enjoying it!
I spent 2 amazing months in the MTC, and now I've been in Sweden for almost 5 months. I've spent that time serving in the beautiful city of Karlstad, Sweden. It's right on the north tip of the biggest lake in Sweden. The greenery and the water remind me so much of Washington. The weather has been fun (a sunny summer, a rainy fall and a very cold winter). And I've got to know so many great people, both in our friendly little branch and as I walk the same streets over and over again. I love it here.
I've grown so much closer to our Savior in this time. I've seen Him work miracles in the lives of others--changing their hearts, healing and strengthening them. He loves His children so much, and it's been incredible to be so involved with that work.
To sum up how it feels, I would like to quote 2 Nephi 26:24-25.
"He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world; for he loveth the world, even that he layeth down his own life that he may draw all men unto him. Wherefore, he commandeth none that they shall not partake of his salvation.
"Behold, doth he cry unto any, saying: Depart from me? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; but he saith: Come unto me all ye ends of the earth, buy milk and honey, without money and without price."
I'm being transferred soon, and it will be exciting to meet a new set of people and to take part in a new work. God definitely has a plan for Karlstad--I've seen that time and time again. I'm looking forward to getting to know the plan He has for the next city I will serve in.
I know that Christ loves each and every one of us. And I know that through Him we can be saved. Nothing is beyond His power to save, and He wants nothing more than to have us back in His loving presence. It is such a privilege to participate in that work, helping His children prepare for that day.
